Great Scott, Allston
The proposed development introduces a dynamic, nine-story mixed-use building that brings music, housing, and neighborhood-serving retail together at a pivotal intersection. Anchored by a revitalized live music venue, the project will include 139 residential units—20 percent of which will be affordable—along with approximately 7,100 square feet of active ground-floor retail that enhances street life and pedestrian engagement.
The site occupies a prominent corner within an intersection poised for comprehensive redevelopment, with all four corners slated for transformation. This collective reinvestment presents a unique opportunity to shape a vibrant, culture-driven district that balances density, affordability, and public realm activation.
Honoring its legacy, the music venue will feature a refreshed interpretation of Great Scott’s iconic green awning, signaling continuity with its storied past while marking a new chapter just two blocks from the original location at Cambridge Street and Harvard Avenue. The venue will include a 300-person capacity main room at Great Scott, complemented by a 75-person sister venue, O’Brien’s—reaffirming the site’s role as a cornerstone of the local music scene and an active, animated presence within the neighborhood.
