63 Parker Hill Avenue, Boston
The landscape design for 63 Parker Hill Avenue is envisioned as a seamless extension of the building’s historic renovation—supporting contemporary residential living while reinforcing the established character of the Mission Hill neighborhood.
Situated on a prominent 1.14-acre corner parcel at Parker Hill Avenue and Fisher Avenue, the project reimagines an approximately 65,000-square-foot historic structure formerly used as an assisted living facility. The redevelopment includes a full building renovation, a 15,000-square-foot addition, and new courtyard construction, creating a vibrant 116-unit residential community anchored by thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces.
Streetscape improvements along Parker Hill Avenue and Fisher Avenue will follow Boston Complete Streets guidelines, enhancing pedestrian comfort, safety, and neighborhood connectivity. Upgraded sidewalks, coordinated curb cuts, and integrated planting establish a refined public realm that strengthens the project’s relationship to the surrounding community.
Planting and paving strategies are carefully composed to complement the building’s historic architecture while introducing a fresh, residential identity. Landscaped frontage zones and a new primary entrance along Parker Hill Avenue create a clear and welcoming arrival experience for residents and visitors alike.
More than 22,000 square feet of at-grade exterior space provides a variety of shared and private outdoor environments. These spaces include landscaped courtyards, garden areas, and private patios designed to support relaxation, social connection, and everyday use. A roof deck amenity further expands outdoor living opportunities with elevated views and shared gathering space.
The landscape design responds to existing grade changes through integrated retaining walls, steps, ramps, and walkways—ensuring accessible, intuitive circulation throughout the site. Side and rear yard buffers, fencing, and layered planting create comfortable transitions between public, semi-private, and private areas.
