92 Spring Street, West Roxbury
The landscape design for 92 Spring Street responds to the site’s unique triangular geometry and residential context within West Roxbury, strengthening the public realm while creating a comfortable, well-buffered residential environment.
Along Spring Street, streetscape improvements follow Boston Complete Streets guidelines, incorporating pedestrian-scaled planting, sidewalk amenities, and bicycle accommodations. Street tree strategies are carefully tailored to overhead utility constraints while reinforcing a cohesive neighborhood streetscape.
Residential entrances and garage access are clearly defined through accent paving, integrated planting, and site furnishings that establish a welcoming sense of arrival. The existing wooded rail embankment along Powell Street is preserved and enhanced, providing a strong natural buffer and reinforcing privacy for adjacent neighborhoods.
A primary resident amenity courtyard above the garage podium serves as a shared outdoor retreat, featuring flexible gathering areas, shaded seating, layered planting, and accent lighting. The potential future use of Cass Street offers additional opportunities for green space or site access, supporting overall site functionality.
Through durable materials, resilient planting, and coordinated grading solutions, the landscape design enhances neighborhood character while supporting long-term performance and livability.
